Colorful DIY Locker Decoration Ideas

One of my favorite things to do at the beginning of the year when I was still in school was to decorate my locker! And with all of the requests we’ve been getting for DIY locker ideas, it seems like you guys love it just as much as I do! We decided to go with a food themed locker, but you can take these tutorials and apply them to whatever theme you’d like. All of the projects in this post are super simple, and would be great to do with your gal pals at your next slumber party! This is totally making me wish I had a locker again!!! 🙂 Oh, and for all of asking where we got these pink lockers, I could only find them on Amazon here!

For the cork boards:
Mini round cork boards (we got ours from the craft store)
Acrylic paint in various colors
Paintbrush
Adhesive magnet sheet

For the mirror:
7″ round mirror (we got ours at Michaels)
Printable adhesive vinyl (here)
Scissors
Adhesive magnet sheet

For the pencil cup:
Little yellow cup (from the Container Store)
Green foam sheet
Exacto knife
Brown vinyl sheet
Hot glue gun
Super strong magnets (here)
Epoxy glue

For the eraser magnets:
Shaped erasers (here)
Super strong magnets (here)
Epoxy glue

For the cork boards:
1. Since we made a watermelon, we’ll use that as an example. Paint the whole cork board pink and allow to dry completely.

2. Paint the outer edge green and use black paint to create seeds in the middle of the board.

3. Once all of the paint is dry, press an adhesive magnet sheet onto the back of the cork board and place into your locker. Fill with pushpins and photos!

For the mirror:
1. Using the adhesive vinyl and an inkjet printer, print whatever image you’d like onto the vinyl.

2. Cut out the image and carefully place it onto your mirror.

3. Flip the mirror over and apply an adhesive magnet sheet to the back. Hang up the mirror in your locker!

For the pencil cup:
1. Using the green foam and an exacto knife, cut out multiple sizes of pineapple leaves. Hot glue all of the leaves together to form the shape for the top of a pineapple. Set aside

2. Cut small X’s out of brown vinyl and place them on the front of the pineapple cup.

3. Hot glue the leaves to the inside of the cup and allow to dry.

4. Using epoxy glue, glue 3 of the super strong magnets to the back of the cup. Allow to dry completely before using in your locker and filling with pencils.

For the eraser magnets:
1. Place a small amount of epoxy onto the back of an eraser and place a super strong magnet over the glue.

2. Allow for the glue to dry completely and you have some fun, new magnets.

I never thought I’d be saying this (I used to hate school), but I’m feeling a little bit nostalgic for high school now! If only my school lockers has been bright PINK!

  1. I love this! Btw, I found something similar online @ walmart and home depot for $100.

P.s. I wish my school’s locker was pink. And I also don’t have time to decorate since we’re always running to the next class 🙂
