Giant Frosted Circus Animal Cake

Cake projects always seem to turn out to be my favorite, and this one is definitely no exception. We’re showing you how to make a GIANT circus animal cookie cake today! I’m crazy about frosted circus animal cookies (and from what you’ve expressed, you guys are too) so when I came up with the idea to make a giant version of this beloved cookie, I had a cake it ’til you make it moment and turned yet another food into a CAKE! And this one is filled with sprinkles and covered in hot pink icing, so how can you go wrong, right? Plus, this might be one of the easiest cakes I’ve ever made because it’s just a regular cake cut into the shape of an elephant. So for all of you who definitely don’t want to spend time baking a cake, you could even buy a store-bought cake and transform it into an circus animal cookie!

11″ x 15″ cake pan

Your favorite cake recipe

Store-bought frosting or buttercream

Large serated knife

Circus animal template (here)

Hot pink food coloring

Rainbow sixlets (here)

1. Bake two cakes in your 11″ x 15″ cake pan. Place both cakes in the refrigerator to chill. Once chilled, level off the tops of both cakes and set aside.

2. Color your frosting or buttercream hot pink and spread over the top of one of the cakes. Place the other cake on top of the frosting and chill until the frosting has set.

3. Print out your circus animal template and place it on top of the cake. Using a serated knife, go around the cake and cut out the shape of the animal cookie.

4. Frost the outside of the cake with more hot pink icing and place the rainbow sixlets on top like giant sprinkles. Cut a slice of cake and enjoy!

Grab a slice and dig in because this baby is funfetti too! And if you haven’t had your fill of circus animal cookies just yet, we have a recipe for a circus animal cheesecake right over here!
