DIY Last Minute Dessert Ornaments

5-dessertornaments5 more days until Christmas guys!!!! Are you as excited as I am?! Every year I’m always still making Holiday projects up until the last minute, and this year is no different! Our tree was lacking in food-related ornaments, so I whipped some up over the weekend and I thought I’d show you how to make them in case you were in need of some more ornaments for your tree too. Plus, these make quick and easy gifts, and I’m sure your donut-loving friends would be thrilled to get an ornament that shows their dessert love this year!

how-to

1. To make the ice cream sandwich, roll out dark brown model magic to 1/2″ thick. Cut out two rectangles. Using a skewer, poke holes in one side of both of the rectangles. Using white model magic, roll it out to about 1 1/2″ thick and cut out a rectangle the same size as the cookie. Use a toothbrush to put texture on the ice cream. Put all of the pieces together and leave out to dry.

2. To make the s’mores, roll out light brown model magic to 1/2″ thick. Cut out two squares. Using a skewer, poke holes in one side of both of the squares. Using dark brown model magic, cut out a 1/2″ thick square for chocolate. Roll up some white model magic into a ball and squish the ball to create a marshmallow. Put all of the pieces together and leave out to dry.

3. To make the donut, roll a large amount of beige model magic into a ball. Squish the ball to create a disk shape that looks like a donut. Poke a hole in the middle. Roll out pink model magic to 1/4″ thick and cut out a shape to look like frosting. Poke a hole in the middle of the frosting and stick it onto the donut. Hot glue rainbow sprinkles to the top and leave out to dry.

4. To make the lollipop, roll out long snake-like shapes in purple, pink, yellow, orange, white, blue, and green and place them all next to each other. Twist the colors up so that they are marbled. Once they have been marbled, start and one end and swirl the long strand into a lollipop shape. Hot glue a stick to the back and leave out to dry.

5. To make the fairy bread, roll out beige model magic to 1/2″ thick and cut out a bread shape. Using brown model magic, put a thin strip around the slice of bread. Roll out light yellow model magic to 1/4″ thick and cut out a melted butter shape. Hot glue rainbow sprinkles on top of the light yellow model magic and leave out to dry.

6. To make the chocolate chip cookie, roll a piece of light brown model magic into a ball. Flatten the ball until it looks like a chocolate chip cookie shape. With dark brown model magic, break off little pieces and place them on top of the cookie to look like chocolate chips. Use a toothbrush all over the cookie to create a cookie texture and leave out to dry completely.
